Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

The procedures are designed to keep our children safe and to ensure a smooth arrival and dismissal process.

School hours are 7:25-2:10. Students are not to arrive before 7:05 as there will be no supervision, and students will not be allowed to enter the building.  Changes in transportation for the departure of students must be made in writing and approved by an administrator.

Morning Procedures   

All students should move quickly and quietly through the halls. (See the SOAR Matrix for details.)

Breakfast will be served from 7:05- 7:20. Breakfast will not be available for car riders, walkers and bike riders who arrive after the serving time.

For car riders in CD, Kindergarten-Grades 1 and 2, drivers will turn right as they enter the campus and drop off students at the rear of the school. Staff members will open car doors from 7:05-7:25 and will direct students to their classrooms. Parents should remain in their cars in the unloading zone. For car riders in grades 3-5, drivers will turn left as they enter the campus and drop off students at the rear of the school. Parents of students in both grade levels can drop off with the younger student.

Walkers should enter campus after 7:05. A crossing guard will direct them to the sidewalk on the left of the circular drive. Students should enter the school through the door between the cafeteria and the main building.

Bike riders should enter the campus after 7:05. To ensure the safety of our children, students must walk their bikes to the bike rack located in front of the cafeteria. Bikes should be locked to the rack. All students planning to eat breakfast at school should go directly to the cafeteria.

Bus riders will arrive and depart from buses parked in the front loop of the school.  In the morning, students eating breakfast should proceed directly to the cafeteria.

Afternoon Procedures

Students being picked up before the end of the school day must be signed out in the main office by a person listed on the emergency card with a picture ID. The front loop will not be available for parking. Please park in the designated locations.

For car riders in CD, Kindergarten-Grades 1 and 2, drivers will turn right as they enter the campus and drop off students at the rear of the school. Staff members will open car doors from 2:10- 2:25 and will direct students to their cars. Parents should remain in their cars and safely move through the driving zone. For car riders in grades 3-5, drivers will turn left as they enter the campus and pick up students at the rear of the school. Parents of students in both grade levels can pick up children with the younger student.

Students who have not been picked up by 2:30 will be sent to Extended Care. Parents will be responsible for any charges or fees for child-care services.

Walkers will exit the building through the door between the cafeteria and the main building. They should follow the sidewalk to the crossing guard.

Bike riders will exit the building through the door between the cafeteria and the main building. They should WALK their bikes on the sidewalk to the crossing guard.

Bus riders will arrive and depart from buses parked in the front loop of the school.  In the afternoon, students should follow the directions of their classrooms teachers and teachers on duty.
