Black History Month Mini-quest

South Carolina Standards Addressed:

4-6.2      Use print sources such as books, magazines, charts, graphs, diagrams, dictionaries, encyclopedias, atlases, thesauri, newspapers, and almanacs and nonprint media to access information.

4-6.5      Create a list of sources that contains information (including the author and title of a publication) necessary to properly credit and document the work of others.

4-6.6      Use the Internet with the aid of a teacher.

 

Instructions:  You are about to complete a Webquest in which you learn a little about famous African Americans.  Using the Websites listed below and books from the Media Center, answer the following questions on the worksheet your instructor provided. Please be certain to list your source for each person.

1)  Where and when was this person born? If they are deceased, when did they die?

2) Why is this person important? For what is he or she known?
